#MedwayOpenStudios is next week so I’m finishing off stuff and getting ready to sort the browser out. I really enjoy opening up my studio and talking to people who visit. Hope it’s as busy as last year….

I have some news….I was shortlisted for the Society of All Artists Professional Artist of the Year 2023 and have now been selected for the final, don’t think it will get anywhere as the rest of the finalists are very strong and confident…exciting though. The Final judging is in August and all the Finalists will be exhibited in a gallery in London in October. I shall still have the painting during #MedwayOpenStudios so you can come and have a look ‘in real life’ and see what you think…It’s not Sky Arts but it is a very nice thing to happen especially after a struggle with paint lately.

Oils and acrylics in progress

Now dreaming in its frame.

This is a painting of a huge Redwood that lives in Tunbridge Wells. It is a surreally-sized tree, such a magnificent giant. The painting is set as a night scene as the tree bears witness to all the years, stars, moon phases and times in which it has been growing. I thought it wasn’t like anything else that I have painted but looking at it with other pieces I can see that it is mine. Framing in process now….
