This is a painting that was enjoyable to work on, Seasalter looking across to Sheppey
This oil has gone through so many stages….

Large sheet stretched always very exciting, I’m protecting areas as I work very slowly in loose watercolour. Really enjoying this so far

Working from resources and sketchbook then loosely on beautiful Saunders Waterford paper and enjoying the magic of watching paint dry…

Gathering sketches and studies ready to do some watercolours of Bluebell Hill

Setting up at 4:00pm on 23rd but first full day from 10:30am 24th August

Starting some small oils on boards so I can work in the Fishslab Gallery, Whitstable during the exhibition 24th August for a week.

Things going into frames, it’s been really busy finishing off things so the exhibition will look OK. Sold some large oils as well as some favourites during Medway Open Studios so I have been painting almost every day. Andrew Trinder has been mounting and framing and it’s been full on. I’ve even slept downstairs in the studio…but this was because it was lovely and cool during the mad heatwave…… not painting all night..
