Starting some small oils on boards so I can work in the Fishslab Gallery, Whitstable during the exhibition 24th August for a week.

Things going into frames, it’s been really busy finishing off things so the exhibition will look OK. Sold some large oils as well as some favourites during Medway Open Studios so I have been painting almost every day. Andrew Trinder has been mounting and framing and it’s been full on. I’ve even slept downstairs in the studio…but this was because it was lovely and cool during the mad heatwave…… not painting all night..

Been a steady weekend of visitors so far. Tuesday 5th July, I’m open at a later time, 5:00pm – 9:00pm. Then Friday 8th July , Saturday 9th July and Sunday 10th July, I’m open 11:00am – 6:30pm. Several pieces have been bought from the walls and from the browser and we can mount and frame them with your choice of mount colours and type of framing. It’s great to be doing Medway Open Studios after the long hiatus, lots of local artists participating again this year.

Oils, re-working the second Whitstable Beach using the studies, charcoal drawings and photograph taken on the day. ‘Red Bathampton’ is a bit of a development from watercolour sketchbook pieces…

Think this is at last… almost.. finished… but then… Always really difficult to stop.

Working into these pieces, acrylic and also the larger oil.

Developing the oils a bit, some acrylic work and some loose, fast watercolour no pencil….

Oils based on the Malverns, I think the smaller one is finished but I may tinker. I’m enjoying the smell of oil paint in the studio. I’m exploring some of the different mediums that one can use with oils too.
